We’re Board Games

The Boundary region’s first Board Game cafe featuring Grab & Game snacks, hand-crafted beverages and a game library of 500+ titles to play, in cafe,  all day for just $3 per person. We also stock Magic: the Gathering, Warhammer, board & card games as well as puzzles for sale for you to take home!

The Board Room Café exists to be a magical, inclusive, and welcoming hub for Grand Forks’ & surrounding areas gaming and creative community. Our mission is to provide a safe, clean, and joyful environment where people of all ages can adventure, gather, play, learn, and connect.

    Casual MTG Play - Most Fridays & Sundays

     🃏 Magic: The Gathering – Casual Play at The Board Room Cafe

    Whether you are looking to brew a new deck, polish your competitive skills, or just relax with a casual Commander pod, our tables are open for you! We foster an inclusive, community-driven environment for all players.

    • Friday Night Magic (FNM): Join us most Fridays from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. These sessions are designated for casual play whenever a specific official event is not scheduled, though you may occasionally find us hosting casual play alongside scheduled events.
    • Sunday Casual Play: Enjoy weekly sessions from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. These sessions run every week, even when other events are scheduled simultaneously, ensuring you always have a place to play.
    • Entry Details: We keep things simple and affordable—only our standard "Stay & Play" fee of $3 plus taxes applies for these sessions.

    Tip: Don't forget to sign up for the Official Magic Companion App! Checking in when you arrive helps The Board Room Cafe earn official event tickets, which in turn allows us to keep exclusive promotional prize support, foils, and player gifts coming back to our community.
